SELF-PROTECTING COR-TEN STEEL
This isn't ordinary rust – it's a sophisticated protective barrier. COR-TEN steel forms a stable rust-like appearance called a patina, which actually shields the steel underneath from further corrosion.
Unlike regular steel that rusts through, the patina on COR-TEN is self-regenerating and non-porous. The alloying elements (copper, chromium, and nickel) create a dense protective layer that blocks oxygen and moisture from penetrating deeper – essentially making the steel rust-proof after initial weathering.
This product is great for edging. I found that you have to assemble it flat on the ground first and I even used a rubber mallet to pound the sections in place before putting it the ground. Once you get it together it looks an works great. Just be sure about your mea because you cannot cut it.
These strips look really great and do the job well. They are fairly easy to cut and quite simple to bend into the exact shape you need. The points at the bottom go far enough into the ground, but not too far. You won't need extra stakes to hold these in place, They seem very sturdy, as they are the perfect thickness between stiff and bendable. They hook together using 4 holes on one end and 4 hooks on the other end. The only drawback is that you have to cut the holes off of the last piece so it doesn't look awkward at the end. Plan accordingly.
Will ben if it hits a rock. Be careful, once in if very nice. Not difficult to put together either.
Exactly what I was expecting. Most of the pieces were rusted consistently. Pretty simple to install but it does require patience to get the pieces together.
It's fine for small areas.
